To do this well Ask a Doc strives to always provide relevant accurate and up to date information.
Ask a Doc provides health related information that is prepared and compiled by its panel of doctors.
Ask a Doc will also from time to time work with external suppliers in the provision of health related content.
This information is not meant to replace a comprehensive medical review by a qualified health practitioner (full medical history, examination and relevant medical testing).
Ask a Doc will strive to ensure that the information provided is relevant in the following ways.
- Ask a Doc shall always ensure to work with certified and qualififed professionals from various fields. Articles written by medical, non medical and Dental consultants will have their full names and address of practice. While this may be rightly viewed as advertising for the consultants, it serves the greater purpose of transparency and accountability.
Ask a Doc will have the capacity to edit the articles but credit the articles to the source.

- Ask a Doc shall frequently review all the information posted to ensure it is accurate, consistent and up to date.
- Ask a Doc shall clearly outline the sources of information so that you the user has a better ability to distinguish the degree of expertise that has gone into the provision of information.
- Ask a Doc shall clearly point out when information relayed is of a personal opinion and not of a factual nature.
Editorial content presented on this site is independent of any beneficial interest either to the panel of doctors, third parties providing content or advertisers on the site.

Advertising Policy
Ask a Doc will be working with interested advertising partners to facilitate the running of the website and the continued free service for the public.
These policies provide the guidelines that shall be strictly adhered to in dealing with all individuals, for profit and non-profit organisations, as well as government and non governmental organisations, who will advertise on the site www.askadoc.co.ke
For the purposes of clarity, advertising includes marketing information purposely relayed with the aim of promoting a specific agenda, product, individual or event on the site by way of banners, tag lines, headings, badges, contextual advertising, sponsored links and articles and promotions.
The following rules shall apply:
- Ask a Doc will decide, at its own discretion, what advertising is put up on the site, and when. This will in by no way mean that Ask a Doc, its directors, panel of doctors or partners in whatever capacity support the product, service, individual or agenda advertised. Where Ask a Doc wishes to explicitly support a cause, individual, agenda, product or service, this will be clearly and prominently outlined.
- Ask a Doc reserves the right to determine where on the site specific content shall be placed. This determination shall always be made at the sole discretion of Ask a Doc. Certain banners will be on fixed locations on the site. Advertisers wishing to occupy this space shall have to meet the market rates for the same.
- All advertised and sponsored content will clearly be labeled as “Advertised” and/or “Sponsored”.
- Factual health content that is sponsored will be clearly marked “sponsored”.
- A sponsor or advertiser shall not be allowed to sponsor factual health content in which their product, service or agenda is overtly and/or repeatedly mentioned.
- Prescription medication shall not be advertised.
- Ask a Doc will not knowingly accept advertising that is intentionally misleading, inaccurate or openly discrediting another party (whether implied or explicit). Should the discrediting be done in a suggestive manner that only a specific demographic understands, Ask a Doc would like to be notified by the interested/afflicted parties.
- Ask a Doc will at no time accept advertising from the following categories:
- Products or services that are not officially licensed by the relevant regulatory bodies.
- Illegal or objectionable products.
- Offensive material of any nature.
- Alcoholic products.
- Tobacco products.
- Weapons of any nature.
- Products that are no longer beneficial in medicine as guided by international standards.
- Pornography in any form.
- Material that is targeted at children.
- Material that may be targeted at the mentally impaired.
- Political material of any nature.
- Miracle cures of any nature.
- The advertiser must ensure that the advertised content is available for purchase or acquisition as advertised in terms of location, the actual material and the price (if this is included in the advertisement). Failure to meet these requirements will result in immediate withdrawal of the advert whether the paid for duration has lapsed or not.
- Some of the adverts will link to the advertisers’ sites or external sites.
Ask a Doc shall not be liable for any misleading or inaccurate information that may be contained on the advertisers site. This said, Ask a Doc shall not knowingly associate with any advertisers that are known to indulge in such a practice. Ask a Doc shall also not knowingly associate with any advertisers who are in gross breech of the values we stand for.
- It is the responsibility of the advertisers to keep current and adhere to the regulations from the respective regulatory bodies, be it government or the various medical pharmaceutical, drugs and poisons boards or unions in the region.
Ask a Doc shall not be liable for any breach in the laid down rules. However, Ask a Doc reserves the right to review all advertisements for adherence to regulations and shall do its best to ensure these rules are adhered to. Whereby we realize that certain rules have been broken, we shall withdraw the advert with immediate effect.
- Whenever Ask a Doc withdraws an advertisement for a reason other than the elapsing of the time duration agreed on beforehand, we shall notify the advertiser in formal writing, either by certified email or postal mail. Ask a Doc shall not be held liable for any losses, in revenue or otherwise, that the advertiser may experience as a result of withdrawal of their advertisement due to not meeting these terms.
- No advertising will be allowed on the website that could tarnish the Ask a Doc name, or the website www.askadoc.co.ke
